The second post in a series on how to get started Toe Spacing:
- Do I Need Toe Spacers?

- Phase 2: Working Toe Spacers Into Your Daily Life
- Phase 3: Living A Toe Spaced Life
Toe spacing is a journey, and Phase 1 is all about getting your feet acclimated to this new (but natural) alignment.
Here’s how to get started:
What You Need
- Toe Spacers
- Recommended: CorrectToes
While they’re the most expensive option, they offer the best out-of-the-box spacing, come in multiple sizes according to your foot, and are built to last forever.
- Budget-Friendly Option: Amazon
A more affordable alternative, such as these spacers from Amazon, can work as a starting point. However, they are one-size-fit-all and provide less spacing than CorrectToes so may not be as effective (see image below).
In the image below, CorrectToes are shown on the right, while a common budget option is on the left:
How to Get Started
- Start Wearing Them Every Day
- Wear your spacers barefoot around your home—think cooking, cleaning, or tidying up. Toe spacing is more effective when you’re activating your foot muscles versus sitting passively (like on the couch).
- Pay Attention to the Time
- Initially, aim for about 20 minutes. You may notice your feet or toes starting to feel sore—not a muscle soreness, but you'll know it when you feel it. This is normal as your feet adjust. When this happens, take the spacers off and give your feet a break.
- Wear them for longer periods as your foot adjusts to the new feeling.
- Reflect and Observe
- After at least a week of daily use, take note of any new sensations:
- Do you feel different areas of your feet activating?
- Does walking feel different?
- How do your feet look after wearing the spacers?
When Do I Move On to Phase 2?
When you can wear your toe spacers for at least an hour around the house without encountering that sore feeling, you are likely ready for Phase 2.
